By ordering from Clare Anne Taylor you agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions and accept that the following Conditions may be modified or updated on this website from time to time.
You agree to pay Clare Anne Taylor the price as quoted on your signed order form. We reserve the right to amend the prices as published from time to time. This will not affect the price of your cake as quoted within the 28 days grace period, or on your signed order form.
Bookings and Deposits
All dates, orders and bookings are only secured with a non-refundable deposit. Once deposits are received and cleared, your booking is fully secured. By making a payment you are accepting the Terms and Conditions as detailed on this page. All payments can be paid by bank transfer or Stripe.
All wedding cake orders require a €150 non-refundable deposit to secure the date. Once you have approved the final cake design a second non-refundable deposit, equal to half of the final price of your cake and any extra services required, less €150, is payable. Once payment has been received an email confirmation will be sent to you.
Our Flavour Tasting Box delivery service is complimentary once a €150 deposit has been received. If you would like a Flavour Selection prior to booking your date we will be happy to organise this for you at a cost of €55 plus €10 delivery charge. The €55 will be redeemable against your deposit should you decide to book a date with us. This service runs most weeks except during peak season in the Summer and December.
Once the final design has been approved a quote for such will be issued. This will be valid for 28 days. An invoice detailing the remaining final balance and any additional services you have selected will be issued. Your Cake Order Form and a copy of our Terms and Conditions will be issued for signature.
Final payment is due 2 weeks prior to the wedding date as detailed on the order form. All changes must be made at least 6 weeks in advance of the wedding date. Any late changes may result in extra costs.
On your initial invoice the due date of the final amount will be included and a reminder of the final amount will be emailed to you no less than 7 days before payment is due. Failure to make payment of the remaining balance may result in your order being cancelled and your date being made available to someone else.
All payments can be made by bank transfer or Stripe.
All occasion cakes and confection orders require a non-refundable deposit of 50% at time of booking. Payment of the remaining balance is due one week prior to collection.
If the order is placed two weeks or less ahead of collection/ delivery date payment must be made in full when the order is placed in order to secure the booking. Once payment has been received an email confirmation will be sent to you.
All price quotations, written and verbal are valid for 28 days only from the date of quotation.
Late / Non-Payment
Late/ non-payment could result in the loss of your booking date. In the event of a late/ or non-payment, the order will not proceed until alternative funding has been agreed and payment received in full. In these circumstances, subsequent completion of the order on the required date will not be guaranteed and becomes subject to availability.
Cancellations / Refunds
All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances due to any loss in business due to turning other bookings away on that date.
Any full payments for wedding cakes made less than 2 weeks prior to delivery/ collection date are non-refundable. Orders for wedding cakes paid in full and cancelled with more than 6 weeks notice will be refunded 50% of the total amount paid. We cannot refund the costs of any Wedding Cake orders cancelled with less than 6 weeks notice.
Any full payments for occasion cakes or confections made less than 2 weeks prior to delivery/ collection date are non-refundable. Orders for occasion cakes or confections paid in full and cancelled with more than 2 weeks notice will be refunded 50% of the total amount paid. We cannot refund the costs of any occasion cakes or confections cancelled with less than 2 weeks notice.
If for any reason you wish to re-arrange your wedding date, or date for an occasion cake/ confections, we will endeavour to accommodate these changes, without any additional charges provided sufficient notice is provided, and that we have availability to provide the cake for the re-arranged date.
However, if we are fully booked and cannot provide the wedding cake it will not be possible to refund your deposit. The limiting factor with providing any cake is usually cake delivery and set-up. As a compromise, it may be possible to provide you with your cake prior to your wedding date. But under these circumstances it will become your responsibility to collect, deliver and set-up the cake at the venue.
If you cancel your cake order with us after requesting a change of date no refunds will be made to you under any circumstances.
Delivery and Collection
On the day of collection; your order may be collected at the time stated on your order form. Should you wish to amend the collection details we will accommodate where possible, but cannot guarantee availability. The collection vehicle should have enough flat surface available, be clean and tidy. This is the client’s responsibility. The cake or products can be very fragile so it is advisable to drive very slowly and carefully. An empty boot, with non-slip matting is advisable.
We will provide a delivery note for signature of the safe receipt of goods at the time of collection. Once this is signed we can no longer be held liable for the goods.
We will endeavour to deliver at the time and address agreed with the client on the invoice. However, delivery timings cannot be guaranteed. Refunds will not be given for delayed deliveries. In the unlikely case where your delivery is delayed we will endeavour to deliver it as close to the agreed time as possible. If we can’t deliver because there is no-one to receive the product, or the address provided is wrong, the product will return to our premises and will be held for a maximum of 24 hours.
Delivery / Set-up of Cake at Venue
Cakes should be inspected on receipt to ensure they were not damaged in transit, as you (or any third-party taking delivery e.g. Hotel wedding planner) shall be solely responsible for any damage to any product which occurs after the delivery or collection of any product. As a result of failure to follow any instructions or advice we may give in respect of storage, setting up, or further transportation of the cake.
We will provide a delivery note for signature of the safe receipt of goods at point of delivery. Once this is signed we can no longer be held liable for the goods.
The images on the website are examples of our cakes. All of our products are hand-made and can be ordered in different sizes or colours from those shown on the website. Your cake may have minor variations in colour, design from the website image, due to the nature of our work.
Our cakes may contain non- edible ingredients such as plastic dowels in tiered cakes, and wires and stamens in some sugar flowers. Full details of these will be included in your Important Information Sheet, at point of Collection or Delivery. It is important that these details are read, and that all non-edibles are removed before serving or eating.
Before making a payment, please discuss any allergies or dietary requirements with us. We offer a selection of dietary options, and will endeavour to accommodate where possible. Our products are not suitable for those with allergies as we handle both nuts and wheat.
Allergen information will be provided with all products.
We have a selection of stands available for hire. We will provide the stand/s best suited to the cake/s. All stands require a deposit, in addition to the hire charges, which is fully refundable on the return of the hire stand. It is the Buyer’s responsibility to return the cake stand/s after hire to our address within 3 days (on a working day). In the event that damage has occurred, or the stand has not been returned within the 3 days then the deposit will be retained. We are not liable for any damages that occur to the cake stand before we receive it back. Once the stand is returned within the given timeframe and we are satisfied that it is not damaged we will issue a refund to the Buyer.
Storage / Display
Goods must be stored in a cool dry area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Goods placed outside are liable to react to the temperature. In hot or humid weather there is the possibility of sugar decorations melting or damage to goods.
Please note, we do not provide cake tables, tablecloths or cutting knives. It is the responsibility of the client to provide these or check with the venue to ensure these items are provided. A shelf life and Best Before Date will be provided on the Delivery Note, or at point of collection. This is advisory only. Please note, the shelf life will be reduced once a cake has been cut into.
If you wish to make a complaint after receipt of goods, or to alert us to any concerns, please do so in writing. Please include any evidence of damage, discrepancies or flaws. Refunds will be issued solely at our own discretion.
